Over the years, the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has been highly vocal in championing women inclusion by offering developmental programmes and seminars tailored towards preparing women for relevant career opportunities and establishing platforms to upscale their level of influence and impact.

Hence, WIMBIZ recently partnered with CIG-GAC Motors, a woman-led organisation, in its quest to enforce proper representation of women in key mainstream sectors and ensure the protection of their fundamental rights.

Executive Director of WIMBIZ, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to the cause of women by constantly providing learning opportunities that allowed them to optimise their potential.

“WIMBIZ has over the past two decades built a growing community of women who have been able to go through our programmes and experiences to discover their potentials, have a voice and be who they can be. Our goal remains to consistently advocate for women and create platforms that can help elevate their status and influence across all three main sectors, which are the business, corporate organisations and public service,” she said.

Akingbohungbe commended the leadership of GAC Motors, adding that WIMBIZ partnership with them was a step in the right direction towards accomplishing their set goals and objectives.

“GAC Motors is led by a very strong woman and her story is admirable and inspiring. And she represents what we want a WIMBIZ woman to look like when you are at your full potential, contributing to nation-building, humanity and creating employment opportunities. Partnering with her as well as her organisation is a solid step in our drive to achieve our mission in women’s advocacy,” Akingbohungbe added.

Past Executive Director and Life Member, WIMBIZ, Hansatu Adegbite, stated that the new partnership would be beneficial for both parties and assist WIMBIZ in providing a plethora of opportunities for more women.

“We will leverage opportunities for our female entrepreneurs and I know that Chief Chen has a lot of opportunities and empowerment programmes for women in business. Secondly, within the context of an organisation, what can we now do for our partners; we want a win-win situation. The ones that are important to GAC Motors and all its subsidiaries. And then we’ll look at leveraging several important opportunities as well as key programmes,” Adegbite said.

Founder, CIG-GAC Motors, Diana Chen, described WIMBIZ’s role in transforming the opportunity landscape for women as an influential factor in entering into a partnership, saying she believes it could turn out to be a very productive collaboration in the quest for women’s advocacy.

“WIMBIZ is one of the most influential organisations and the foremost stakeholders in the area of women’s advocacy. We can work together in a lot of aspects, contribute to their progress and collaborate on a lot of projects. We are extremely proud to be in a partnership with WIMBIZ,” Chan said.
