WAI chief cautions officials against graft at polls

THE Bauchi State Commander Community Support Brigade (CSB) and War Against Indiscipline  (WAI) Alhaji Zayyanu Musa has warned its officers and members to shun all forms of corruption and electoral malpractices on election day.

    Zayyanu Musa, who stated this at a one-day sensitization workshop for all the twenty local government commanders in the state said, “It is the duty of all our members to expose and report cases of electoral malpractices to the appropriate authority for further investigations and action. We will work with alone side with other security agencies in each of the polling unit but we are not allow to interfere with the election process because is not part of our duty, our duty is ensure election are conducted peacefully.”

    According to Musa, the sensitization workshop is aimed at impacting more tactical and necessary information to officers and officials towards our efficient and effective performance towards a peaceful conduct of both March and April polls.

    He further advised his members and other security agents to reject offers by politicians on election days such offers ranging from clothes, food items, money and other materials that may entice and stimulate change of mind.

   Also speaking at the workshop, Assistant Commandant Admin and Finance, Alhaji Ahmed Lame said that any of their members who is found involved in collaboration with other security agents to rig election risks a life imprisonment and the command will not protect him against any other penalty.

    “We want to live a good environment for our children and grand children and because of that we should not collaborate to rig the election process”.

He said all members should prepare to work hard for the success of the election and take note of time on election day and to also be obedient to the constitute authority on ground.
