Uzodimma dedicates election tribunal victory to God, Imo people

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, at the weekend, dedicated his victory at the legislative and governorship tribunal to God. The tribunal sitting in Abuja, upheld his November 11,2023 election victory.


Reacting, while fielding questions at the Government House, Owerri, Uzodimma expressed delight over the verdict of the justices, by dismissing the petitions filed by both the governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, and the Labour Party (LP), standard bearer, Athan Achonu, noting that it was a true reflection of the majority of the votes cast massively by the people in his favour.

Uzodimma said the ruling of the tribunal was an, “unequivocal affirmation of the popular mandate given to him by Imo people.” He stressed: “My victory was Divine and a true reflection of the choice of the majority of Imo people. I commend the tribunal justices for their thoroughness and lucidity in delivering the judgment.”

The governor commended Anyanwu, Achonu and others for approaching the tribunal to demonstrate their belief in the principles of democracy in the most desired civility, calling on them to join hands with him to build and move Imo forward.
