A LEADING advertising agency, TBWA Concept, has taken creativity to a novel level by employing six stay-at-home mothers as copy writers.

The mothers, who were pruned from an initial pool of 200 women, are expected to work at their pace from their homes while still looking after their children and family.

According to the Managing Director, TBWA and AAAN President, Mr. Kelechi Nwosu, the decision to employ women who are also home-keepers was borne out of the need to give them the opportunity to thrive.

The women, who are tagged “Write Moms,” were unveiled at a programme in Lagos recently.

The event was opened by Mr Kelechi Nwosu, who introduced the Guest Speaker, Mrs Bola Thomas, former AAAN President and one of the founders of LTC Advertising.

In her capacity as one of the pioneer women in advertising in Nigeria, she talked about the historical challenges for women in advertising, stressing that “women should be empowered and not be limited by their gender”.

To prepare the write mothers for their new roles, a creative writing workshop facilitated by Mrs Ijeoma Onwuegbu-Uduma, a scriptwriter for MNET Nigeria, introduced them to the essentials of creative writing.
