Sowunmi states need for PDP to be strong

PDP

Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] chieftain and aspirant for the national chairmanship position of the party, Segun Sowunmi, has said he is joining the race is to reshape and reform the political space of the country and to return the party to a sustainable path of progress.

Sowunmi, who spoke against the backdrop of the country drifting towards one-party state, said the Nigeria state would never become a one-party state, no matter the politicking and intrigues.

He described PDP as a formidable force to reckon with in terms of its opinion and stance on the political situation of the country, saying that after 25 years of existence of the party, PDP must have the ability to reform itself and make genuine progress in the interest of the ordinary Nigerian.

He pointed out that the PDP should not be an appendage of the alternate party but rather a political party that, through history, was able to recreate itself for the future and lead the country back to the path that is sustainable and glorious.
