Simisola Kosoko, known by her stage name Simi, has responded to comments made by fellow artists, Brymo and Samklef.

The controversy started when Brymo made a provocative statement suggesting he desired a sexual encounter with Simi in exchange for a music collaboration.

In a similar vein, Samklef admitted to having feelings for Simi during their early career days but refrained from pursuing them to keep their professional and personal lives separate.

Simi’s Take on the Matter

In a recent interview with media personality Angela Yee, Simi expressed her shock at the comments made by Brymo and Samklef. She dismissed their remarks as more humourous than serious and stated that she was not sure of their intentions.

Simi said, “I don’t understand why they keep mentioning me. Their comments are vague and confusing. It doesn’t bother me.”

Adekunle Gold, Simi’s husband and a fellow artist, defended his wife against what he saw as disrespectful comments from Brymo and Samklef.

His response escalated the situation with Samklef, leading him to say, “Simi owes you nothing. You should stop bringing her up unnecessarily. If anything, you owe me! Stop acting immature and behave appropriately!”

During the interview, Simi also addressed the rumours about her relationship with rapper Folarin Falana, known as Falz. She clarified that their strong musical connection led people to believe they were romantically involved.

Simi also teased an upcoming song with Falz, set to release later this month.

Simi started her career as a gospel singer. She released her debut studio album titled “Ogaju” in 2008. However, she gained public recognition in 2014 after releasing “Tiff”, a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015 .
