Security operatives arrest suspected kidnappers, rescue victim

Security operatives have arrested three daredevil members of a criminal gang of kidnappers in Aguata Local Council of Anambra State. Confirming the incident, yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikénga, said that the suspects were arrested on Thursday after exchange of gunshots with security operatives.
 
In a statement, he said that the security operatives also rescued the kidnapped victim at Neni by Okacha Junction in the state.  He listed the items recovered from the suspects to include two AK-47s with live ammunition, fake police and army uniforms, two cell phones, two bulletproof vests, and two walkie-talkies.
 
“Others are one black Prado Jeep with registration number: GWA – 696 CM Abuja, one Ash Lexus 350 with registration number: EKY – 605GV Lagos, and others.
 
“The arrested hoodlums were: Chinonso Offor, a native of Enugu State, resident in Ekwulọbịa, Hycent Ugwuike, native of Nsukka, resident in Onitsha and Samuel Sunday from Akwa-Ibom but resident in Isuochi, Abia State.
 
“The hoodlums are still in police custody, undergoing further investigations,” he added.
