Realtor gets League of African development students’ recognition

The League of African Development Students (LEADS) has awarded a real estate professional and Chief Executive of Officer of ESSO Properties Limited, Mr. Smith Sosochukwu Ezenagu, with Lead’s Africa’s Patriotic Personality Awards for 2021.

He was also awarded the LEADS Merit Award of Excellence for his intervention in youth development in Nigeria.


LEADS is the umbrella body for all democratic Students Unions in Africa, which started in 1985 at the Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

The body, which has the objectives of sensitizing members on the development of best practices, is situated in over 25 countries in Africa. The organisation said Ezenagu was rewarded for his impact on the youths and his overwhelming passion for a better society.

Speaking at a short ceremony in Lagos, the Secretary-General, LEADS Africa and student of Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Accra, Ghana, Osisiogu Osikenyi, said ESSO Properties Limited is a fast emerging leading property firm specially orchestrated to meet Nigeria’s national housing deficit with acquisition plans that are flexible for all classes of income earners desirous of a reliable property advisory and consultancy across the country.


According to him, the extent to which ESSO Property had proven to encourage property ownership among average low-income earners, Nigerians at home, and Diaspora, those planning retirement and young persons planning a future compelled its endorsement by LEADS.

Also, President of delegates, LEADS Africa, Tankou Patrique of L’universite de Yaounde-1 Regional Representative (Francophone), Cameroon, commended the recipient for hitting the ground running with a property advisory and consults package that suit contemporary times and seek to meet novel challenges.

He said the ESSO property boss was also conferred the prestigious Lead’s Africa’s Patriotic personality awards to recognise his commitment to Africa’s quest for development and self-reliance in Africa, an honour that had in previous years been conferred on outstanding personalities in Africa.


They include Chief Executive Officer of Equity Mortgage Bank of Kenya, Dr. James Mwangi, Former vice-chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Prof. Mabel Imbuga, Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Liberia, Nathaniel McGill, Chief of Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Prof. David John Francis and Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries, and others.

In his remarks, Ezenagu said the award would spur him to continue to partner youths and pursue programmes that are tailored towards youth development.

He urged the youth to imbibe the culture of hard work and dedication by being the best in anything they do to achieve better results.

The Manager Media, Esso Properties Limited, Blessing Ugbem pledged that ESSO properties will continue to provide programmes that would be beneficial to the youths.
