PEFA Foods launches fast-soup products for Nigerian market

Nigerian food company, PEFA Foods, has launched new fast-soup products for Nigerian and African markets.

Samson Okolinta, the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PEFA Solutions – makers of PEFA Foods – in a statement on Saturday, explaining how their products will benefit Nigerians, stated that many people are too busy these days to cook for hours and are looking for an easy and fast way to prepare healthy delicious soups.

“As a bachelor, the stress of going to the market and cooking for a long time is demanding. I know many people face the same stress in cooking their meals too. with time, it occurred to me that we needed a solution, and that was how the idea of PEFA Foods was birthed,” he said.

According to Okolinta, PEFA Foods produces four varieties of instant soups which take a few minutes to prepare with little or no stress.

Also, according to him, the four categories of soups − which are produced in Lagos − are Instant Egusi Dry Mix, Instant Ogbono Dry Mix, Instant Dried Oha Dry Mix, and Instant Dried Efo Riro Dry Mix.

He said the products come in a dry mix form because natural dehydration and processing methods were used to prepare the ingredients to keep them readily available for cooking.

“Our products are NAFDAC-approved. With any of our products, you can effortlessly cook a delicious pot of soup without stepping out of your kitchen,” added.

The PEFA Foods CEO noted that the Nigerian weak economy and high cost of raw materials are affecting their production and business.

He, however, added, “Yet, as a new brand, we are expected to penetrate the market and remain in profit. It takes a lot to achieve this.”

Speaking on how they are managing competition and expanding into greener markets and households, Okolinta stated that they plan to leverage the first-mover advantage to maintain their position as the market leader and ensure their buyers stay loyal and committed to the brand by providing guarantees where necessary.

“Through our distribution offer, we have expanded into more markets. We currently have two distributors in the United Kingdom. One covers Derby while another covers Kent. We also have distributors in Owerri, Lagos, Asaba, and Port Harcourt,” he said.

The PEFA Foods CEO finally stated that in two years, he sees PEFA Foods becoming a global brand − a brand that can be found not only in Africa, but also in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and other countries across the globe.
