Nigerian rapper Olamide has announced a new project titled Ikigai, set to drop on May 26, 2023. The project features seven tracks with guest appearances from Fireboy DML, Asake, Pheelz, Young John, and Lil Kesh.
Meaning of Ikigai
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that refers to a sense of purpose or reason for being. It is often described as the point between what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be rewarded for.
Olamide is one of the most successful rappers in Nigeria. He has numerous albums and singles to his credit. Also, he is known for his input in developing the artistery of newer artistes like Fireboy and Asake.

Additionally, Olamide established a record label in 2012 called YBNL, short for Yahoo Boy No Laptop. The artistes under this record label are Asake, Fireboy DML, B Banks, Jayboi, DJ Enimoney, and Senth.
Also, YBNL used to house singers like Lil Kesh, Lyta, Adekunle Gold, and Yomi Blaze among other acts.
Born Olamide Adedeji, Olamide, is one of the most successful and influential artists in Nigerian music history.
He was born in Bariga, Lagos State, Nigeria. He began his music career in 2000, and released his debut album, Rapsodi, in 2011. The album was a commercial success, and established Olamide as one of the leading rappers in Nigeria.
Olamide has released a total of 10 studio albums, as well as numerous singles and collaborations.
