Coalition of Concerned Northern Forum has withdrawn the 72 hours ultimatum given to the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Mele Kyari, and the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Farouk Ahmed, to resign.

Chairman of the forum, Ibrahim Bature, and the Spokesperson, Abdulsalam Kazeem, stated, yesterday, that their call for the removal of NNPC top shots and the prosecution of importers involved in the contaminated fuel was due to patriotism.

They cited the hardship occasioned by petrol scarcity and the huge economic impact of the bad fuel at a time government is battling with dwindling revenue.

The coalition had on Sunday, February 20, 2022 asked the NNPC GMD to resign.
