NIMN Honours Six Best Students

INSTITUTE-AWARD-1THE National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has honoured six students that came tops in its yearly examination.

The overall best is Dike Mercy Onyinyechi of the Department of Marketing, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while Okunuga Adebisi Muinat of the Department of Business Administration and Marketing, Babcock University, Ogun State came second. Others were Onyeakusiobi Tobenna (University of Nigeria), Akinbola A. Andrew (Adekunle Ajasin University), Ekeh Stanley Chisom (Federal Polytechnic, Nekede) and Onah Agada John, (Benue State University). They came third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively and went home with different category of prizes.

Giving an insight into how the best six students emerged, the President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Ganiyu Koledoye, said many students wrote the examination from 67 tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

“The initially screening was done at the zonal level, except the North East Zone. The best students from these zones were brought to the national level where they wrote another exam at the University of Lagos campus. It was after this that the best six were selected.

“For the students, if they are not members of the institute already, this affords them the opportunity and to also spread the existence of the institute to their colleagues. It also affords us the opportunity to showcase to Nigerians that marketing students are striving for excellence and this is the kind of thing we want to encourage as a professional institute.

We want our future to be part of our present, we want them to embrace what we personally believe is development, which will enable them to succeed in the future.”
