Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Osun State Government has received knocks for including a non-refundable application fee of N2,000 in its online recruitment exercise for teachers w announced on Thursday.

The state is recruiting teachers for its primary and secondary schools.

“Application form is available online at the cost of Two Thousand Naira (N2000.00) only non-refundable,” a statement by the permanent in the state’s ministry of education said.

The application fee has, however, been greeted with criticism and derision.

“Application that is supposed to be free but no. Welcome to New Osun state,” an X user, Yahaya Sani A posted.

“Why are people paying $2 to apply for a job? What value do people get after paying the $2?,” Opeyemi asked on X.

“Would the state government provide a transparent advisory on how to prepare for the test and interview? How many positions are available? So many questions.”

Olalekan Badmus, however, appeared to be in support of the Osun State Government for including a non-refundable application fee of #2,000 in its online recruitment exercise for teachers.

“The other day, I said Mr. Gboyega Oyetola’s tenure has effectively robbed Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) guys any moral right to criticize this administration,” Badmus said.

“Imagine crying of 2,000 Naira job application fee when your “Encyclopedia of Finance” and “silent achiever” sold same for 3,000 Naira four years ago.”
