Kanye West’s ‘Vultures’ Tops Charts Despite Antisemitism Controversy

Kanye West has achieved yet another commercial success with his latest album, ‘Vultures’. The album, which is a collaboration with singer Ty Dolla Sign, debuted at number one on Apple Music and iTunes Charts in several countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and France.

‘Vultures’ is the first of a planned trilogy of albums by the duo, who call themselves ¥$. The second and third volumes are expected to be released in March and April, respectively.

The album features guest appearances from artists such as Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Nipsey Hussle, YG, Lil Durk, Chris Brown, and West’s daughter, North West.

Vultures 1 is already becoming controversial with its lyric choices. Kanye raps in reference to artists who have been accused of sexual abuse saying: “I’m Ye-Kelly bitch…Now, I’m Puff Daddy rich (Ha), that’s ‘#MeToo me’ rich (Ha).” He also made some seemingly antisemitic remarks in the lyric: “I’m not antisemitic, I just fucked a Jewish bitch.”

West has previously posted antisemitic messages on his social media accounts, shared antisemitic conspiracy theories with Fox News, and threatened violence against Jews.
Antisemitism, simply put, is prejudice against or hatred of Jews.

Kanye has also praised Adolf Hitler and Nazis, and wanted to name his previous album ‘Hitler’. He has defended his views and claimed that he can never be canceled by his fans.

He has also apologized to the Jewish community in a post written in Hebrew, saying that he regretted any pain he may have caused and that he was only promoting unity.

However, his apology has been met with skepticism and disbelief by many, who see it as insincere and insufficient.

West’s antisemitism has also had real-world consequences, as it has inspired and emboldened other antisemites and racists to express their hatred and bigotry. It also led to major brands cutting ties with him like Adidas and Balenciaga.
