Guardian Life’s Playlist For International Women’s Day 2021

It is another international women’s day and another day to celebrate women’s achievements; moments to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

Every year, there is a theme that is set to address some important issues in society. For this year, the theme is #choosetochallenge.

A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions. Women are to rise to challenge all the things hindering their growth.

Everyone has a call to challenge and fight against gender bias and inequality. We should all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements.

There are so many ways to #choosetochallenge and music is a part. There are songs that focus on women appreciating their hard work, celebrating body positivity, heartbreaks, strength, and achievements.

Below is the International Women’s Day Playlist for Guardian Life:

The Man by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift out here speaking the mind of so many women. The Man is one of the best songs of Swift, a part of the lyric says:
Every conquest I had made would make me more of a boss to you
I’d be a fearless leader
I’d be an alpha type
When everyone believes ya
What’s that like?

Good as Hell by Lizzo
No matter how good you are; there will be moments of heartbreak and in this international women’s day, dress up and be happy.

FWMM by Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage gave the independent woman vibe in this song and we are here for it. She sings:
Oh no, oh no
Let’s do this thing slow-mo
You either come with me
Or I do this shit solo
I’m loving this freedom
So don’t give me reason to leave ya
‘Cause low key I don’t need ya

Control by Yemi Alade
Listen to this song and let the boss in you come out to dance.
Na me dey hold control
I dey press control
On your mark set go
I dey press control
Na me dey hold control
I dey press control
On your mark set go

The Key by Tems
The tone of assurance and confidence in this Tems song is so beautiful and you should also listen to it.

Mood 4 Eva by Beyonce
You will agree with me that Queen Bee does this queening thing beautifully well and this reflects in the Mood 4 Eva. It is the mood for the international women’s day.

Baby girl by Chloe & Halle
If you are feeling low, this one is for you. Be strong and do it for all the girls in the world.
Baby girl, baby girl
It’s your world, baby girl
Do it for the girls, all around the world
Do it for the girls, all around the world, yeah

Black Magic by Kelly Rowland
If you do not feel enough to challenge the troubles of women in the society, Kelly wants you to know you are enough. She sings:
We bring the glow to the sun
We bring the laughter to fun
We start the new religion, baby
We wooped the world and left it brainless
Mandingo shit
This feels so rich

Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys
You are fire, you can do the impossible, you can also #choosetochallenge and Alicia Keys Girl on Fire is perfect for this.
She’s just a girl and she’s on fire
Hotter than a fantasy, lonely like a highway
She’s living in a world and it’s on fire
Filled with catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away

While you are celebrating this International Women’s Day, do it with these songs and go be a badass.
