Group urges President, IGP to reopen investigation on alleged slain Ladipo trader

Fourteen years after waiting endlessly for justice to be done on the four slained Ladipo traders,‎ Ekwulobia Imeobi Youths Association has taken their cry for justice to President Muhammadu Buhari, following a petition written to the President by the association dated June 15, 2015.

The four Ladipo traders were Anthony Ezenwafor, Chukwuemeka Ezeofor, Izuchukwu Ezeama and Aloysius Osigwe. They were indigenes of Ekwulobia, Anambra State.

They were allegedly shot by some police officers attached to Area ‘C’ Police Command, Surulere, on July 1, 2001 i‎n their two bedroom flat apartment in the boys’ quarters at 48, Olaitan Oduralu Street, Kilo Bus stop, Surulere, Lagos.

They were allededly shot on the ground that they were armed robbers allegedly working for one Chief Jude Okoli, their master, whom the police believed, sent the robbers.

According to the leader of the youths, the police has not prosecuted Chief Jude Okoli till his death in an auto crash in 2006 along Isheri-Berger road which confirms that fact that he was innocent, including the four deceased who were bread winners of their families.’

“Not only did Chief Jude Okoli, before his death in 2006, identified the deceased as legitimate traders at Ladipo market and not armed robbers as speculated by the police. The leadership of Ladipo Main market, Mushin also appeared on AIT and identified the deceased as their genuine members and not criminals as alleged.
