Group equips widows with skills, business startup

Concerned about the plights of widows and their children, Topisto Brand Ambassador and On Air Personality, Uzo Ododo-Oba, has declared that widows deserve to live a happy and dignified life again after the demise of their husbands.

Addressing some widows at a one-day empowerment event at Surulere Mall in Lagos, recently, she observed that many women around the world were devastated as a result of the loss of their partners, hence her decision to equip them with business and vocational skills that would enable them to be productive and contribute to nation building.

The event featured free vocational training and skills acquisition for the widows and their children. These included web designs, make up, tailoring and fashion designs, photography, eyelash fixing and others. There were also talks on mental health and relationship even as some of the widows were given business startup while others were screened for Hepatitis B.

The brand ambassador appreciated the support of Topisto Company, her fans and people from the diaspora for supporting all her projects. The brand gave 10 widows opportunity to become Topisto distributors and make a living.

Sex coach and Chief Executive Officer, Soul Spice, Mrs. Hannah Jonathan, told the widows to invest in their sex life as they invest in other aspects of their lives.

She urged them to study the anatomy of their bodies and how to get the best pleasure to reduce premature aging and health hazards, adding that they should attend relationship workshops.

She noted that widowers remarry after the demise of their wives, making their sex life active, while many widows remain unmarried and thereby shutdown their sex life.

She, therefore, advised the widows against shutting down their romantic life, adding that they should have a life, keep their homes stress-free and interesting.

Speaking, one of the widows, Mrs. Adebisi Okoro, appreciated her educative programmes for families.
