The government has been advised to support youth entrepreneurship to re-engineer and reposition the economy. Convener, SheCan, Ezinne Ezeani, made the call in Lagos, saying government should continuously provide an enabling environment and infrastructure to support businesses and citizens.
Â
Noting that skills and knowledge are the driving force of economic development, she said small-scale businesses are the bedrock of a country’s economy, enabling the youths to get involved in vocational skills and entrepreneurship empowerment programmes.Â
Â
Ezeani said Shecan Nigeria has continuously empowered women and youth with several vocational skills such as catering, digital marketing, crafts, hat/fascinator making and photography.Â

At the programme, some of the beneficiaries were given cash gifts and startup kits. An award-winning ace photographer, Kelechi Amadi, urged them to keep learning, researching and engaging in photography craft.
