Don ignores critics, accepts Otu’s adviser job

Senior Special Adviser to Cross River State Governor on Political Affairs, Jake Enyia, has disclosed that people asked him to reject the appointment.

Enyia, an associate professor at the University of Calabar, who disclosed this on the assumption of office in Calabar, thanked the governor for finding him fit and worthy of the appointment and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He said: “When the appointment was made, people called me to reject it because they said I was bigger than the appointment. Others called me to say if I accepted the appointment, it meant I was greedy, so many calls.

“But these are the same people that when they released the names of commissioners and my name was not mentioned, they said I have been given a decent political burial and my own is finished.

‘These same people, after my appointment was announced instead of congratulating me said I should resign. That’s the nature of man, but I want to say that I have accepted the governor’s appointment,” he said.
