The management of Citadel Views Estate (CVE) has allotted 205 units of solar-powered homes to subscribers in the Ajah axis of Lagos State.

Addressing a press conference to herald the allotment in Lagos of the second 24-hour solar housing scheme, the founder, Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo, recalled that the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 precipitated the initiative, in addition to the Ukraine-Russia, which drove up price of diesel and concomitant inflation that made access to power an excruciating product to afford by an average Nigerian.

Phase 1 of the CVE came into existence on July 7, 2021. Powered by Netherlands-based company, Vectron Energy, with batteries supplied by a German firm, Okonkwo noted that the facilities which stand the estate out, followed thoughts on climate change, taste, aesthetics and insecurity in the country. He referred to the well-equipped estate as “our citadel community.”

Stating the 205 units were part of planned 306 units built within a year, the founder hinted of availability of mortgage facilities for willing subscribers through partnering banks.

He had invested in cooperatives with the host community, which perceived them as partners. Okonkwo said the estate boasts of an array of timeless design elements interwoven with cutting-edge innovations for harmonious blend of the past and present. His words: “We are dedicated to providing exquisite homes with exceptional features that stand the test of time.

“At CVE, we understand the importance of sustainable energy solutions and that’s why our homes are equipped with cutting-edge scalable solar systems.”

“This innovative approach allows each household to generate its own power, while remaining is connected to the grid and benefiting from gas-powered backup generators. With this setup, you can enjoy an aspirational home and environment, where you can thrive without the burden of high service charges.”
