Dangote, Otedola, Ooni, others for Marwa daughter’s book launch

Billionaire businessmen, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, are among private sector leaders expected to join eminent personalities at the public presentation of 101 Nigerian Women of Impact, a book authored by a member of the Presidential Transition Committee, Zainab Marwa.


The author is daughter to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig-Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd).

Spokesperson for NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, stated, yesterday, that the book presentation billed for Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, would be chaired by Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, while the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, are Royal Fathers of the Day.

According to the author, the book documents the achievements of Nigerian women, who have excelled in their career paths, to inspire more women to keep the pursuit of their dreams alive.

The global unveiling of the book was hosted by the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations in New York, on March 8, 2023, in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

Special guests, who spoke at the event include: Deputy Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Ambassador George Edokpa; former Chairperson of Nigerian Governors Wives Forum, Erelu Bisi Fayemi; Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Lot Egopija; wife of Imo State governor, Chioma Uzodimma, and Special Adviser to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Fatima Kakuri, among others.

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, will present the book review.

Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen and the Director General, National Centre for Women Development, Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir, are expected to lead other top government functionaries to the occasion.

Also expected at the event is United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Matthias Schmale, and UNODC Country Representative, Oliver Stolpe.
