Actors Guild Suspends Adanma Luke Over Junior Pope’s Death

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended film producer Adanma Luke and the production process of the film “The other side of life” over the death of actor Pope Junior.


The announcement was made after the death of actor Junior Pope, and three other crew members who lost their lives in a boat mishap on the Anam River in Anambra.

Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, issued the statement on Thursday, declaring a nationwide suspension of filming activities, particularly those involving riverine areas and boat riding.

“No Shoot on all locations nationwide on Thursday, 11th April, 2024, and the film titled “The other side of Life” is suspended indefinitely.


“Also, no actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer till further notice, while we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining persons.

“May their souls rest in peace,” The announcement read.

Rollas emphasized that the film titled “The Other Side of Life” is suspended indefinitely, and no actor is permitted to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice.

Actor Pope Junior died “The other side of Life” in a boat mishap on Tuesday.

Hours before the incident, the actor shared a video of himself taken on Monday, April 9, 2023, in a boat and praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely.

The AGN also expressed its commitment to continue searching for the bodies of the remaining individuals involved in the mishap.
